Dec. 12 - Dec. 18

The last time I posted we were in Halloween mode...now Christmas is in the air!

Just a few pictures of what we've seen this week:

The ornament I bought when I was at Disneyland in October.

Brrrr....

A scene from the dining room:

Front door wreath:

A decoration my mom gave me years ago:

The boys get a new ornament every year. After we decorate the Christmas tree, they open up their new ornament and add it to the tree. I was thrilled to find Lego ornaments this year. So were they!

Table centerpiece that belonged to my husband's grandma years ago. When I got it after she passed away, I took out the glittery egg carton pieces. I left the greenery and pine cones, then added my own berries. :)

I ordered the Amber Edition of Project Life today! Hopefully I'll do a little better with the blog portion next year. :)

Oct. 24 - Oct. 30

Wow, it's been a few weeks since I've checked in with my Project Life blog. I had a great week last week and came home with some fun pictures to share. I spent the week at Disneyland with my mom and my sisters. Let's get on with the pictures...

Sunday Oct. 24th. We arrived at our home away from home for the week. The Howard Johnson - just a 10 minute walk from Disneyland, if that.

Monday Oct. 25th. It's Halloween Time at Disneyland!

Tuesday Oct. 26th. Tonight we went to Mickey's Halloween Party. An after-hours event where we got to go trick-or-treating. We had so much fun.

Wednesday Oct. 27th. I just loved these flowers in Fantasyland -- outside of the Alice In Wonderland ride, to be exact.

Thursday Oct. 28th. More Halloween fun, riding Dumbo in Fantasyland, and enjoying lunch at Blue Bayou inside of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

Friday Oct. 29th. Our last day. Just a few memories from our last day... riding in the front of the monorail (took the picture of the Golden Gate bridge which will soon be removed), Snow White ride breaking down and getting to walk out with the lights on, being next in line to hop on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad but the ride was stopped for an emergency so we all had to get out of line, and finally...getting soaked on Splash Mountain and then heading to the airport in those soaked clothes. :) What a great week!

Saturday Oct. 30th. Today's picture will be of Chief at his first basketball game.

Thanks for stopping by... :)

Oct. 3 - Oct. 9

Oct. 3rd. Sunday. Hmmm. I'm not sure what I'll put in for this day. We continued watching our church's worldwide conference broadcast. I will probably put in a quote from the conference. Right now I'm considering one from a talk about "choosing faith."

Oct. 4th. Monday. Just a scene from the kitchen counter.

Oct. 5th. Tuesday. My latest deal...all this for $5.49.

Oct. 6th. Wednesday. This is what we had for dinner tonight. Orange colored pancakes (no flavoring) and chocolate chips to make jack-o-lanterns. Maxwell Smart is not a fan of pancakes at all, but when I serve them like this in October he all of a sudden becomes a fan. :)

Oct. 7th. Thursday. Today we picked pumpkins. Maxwell is loading his perfect pumpkin into the wagon alongside the pumpkins that Chief and Buddy picked out.

Oct. 8th. Friday. This made me laugh. I was talking to my sister on the phone. She happened to call right before we headed out the door to run some errands -- two of them being to pick up pictures at Walgreens that I had taken of the kids' Lego creations that they were planning on entering into a contest, and going to the bakery to redeem coupons the boys got at school to get a free big cookie. After my sister and I had been talking for a while, I glanced over at the computer and saw this message from Chief!

Oct. 9th. Chief's latest Lego creation. Totally his own design.
See you next week!

Sept. 26 - Oct. 2

Sept. 26th. Chief put together a game for the family to play... a Lego version of Pictionary. It was really fun. Buddy drew the card "Airplane" and this is what he built. We'll definitely play this one again.

Sept. 27th. This picture is courtesy of Buddy. We are switching up the sleeping arrangements with the boys. Buddy and Chief are changing rooms. I told Buddy to take a picture of the stuffed animals in the cradle in his room. They will be homeless when Chief moves in and takes over that space.

Sept. 28th. This was a picture from last week, but I never did get around to posting last week so I'm including it here. This AP article came out in our local newspaper on the very day that the kids' school outlawed Silly Bandz. The fad is quickly coming to an end in our household.

Sept. 29th. We've been painting this week. Chief picked out a bright blue color for his new room. (My mind was wandering a bit while I was painting one day... counting down the days until I go back to Disneyland...)

Sept. 30th. Buddy's current sandwich of choice for lunch these days...

Oct. 1st. It seems like the painting of this little room is taking forever! The kids want to help EVERY step of the way and it has definitely tried my patience. Anyway, I was excited to get to this point today...

Oct. 2nd. Today was our church's worldwide conference that is broadcast every spring and every fall. The kids are playing "Conference Bingo" with M&Ms. Each square has a word such as faith, family, Jesus Christ, atonement, etc. Every time they heard one of the speakers mention one of the words they would put an M&M down, and of course every time they got a Bingo they were able to eat that row of M&Ms and start again. It definitely helps them pay attention!
Well, that's it for this week!

Sept. 12 - Sept. 18

I'm back in action after missing a couple of weeks. Here we go...

Sept. 12th. A sign of fall... A friend brought over some apples that she picked today.

Sept. 13th. When I dropped the kids off at school today, Maxwell Smart said, "What's wrong with those clouds? Are they falling apart?"

Sept. 14th. Doing math homework with Maxwell Smart.

Sept. 15th. Mmmmmm...the salad that I just can't get enough of right now!

Sept. 16th. We went out for dinner tonight. The kids kept themselves busy drawing on the table while we waited for our food to be served. Looks like there was more scribbling than drawing going on...

Sept. 17th. I love this picture of Buddy. We are sitting in the car, waiting for the other boys to get out of school. He's wearing his spider hat that he made at preschool, sporting his many Silly Bandz and rings, and holding a sticky hand thing that he got from a pinata at a birthday party this week.

Sept. 18th. I realized I hadn't taken a picture for today. I was pleasantly surprised to find this picture when I unloaded the camera. Chief and his friend made cookies, and Chief had the good sense to take a picture of the finished product. (I've trained him well!) I love how there's a Mickey Head in there, too!

August 22 - August 28

Sunday August 22nd. Today Chief recited this month's scripture in front of the other children at church. "For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith." -- 2 Nephi 27:23 Buddy was asked to give a talk based on that scripture, so he told a story about one of the miracles that Jesus performed. Instead of putting a picture in for today, I will have Chief write out the scripture on a 4x6 card, along with a reference to the miracle that Buddy talked about, and slide that into the pocket.

Monday August 23rd. We had a storm over the weekend. The kids and I noticed several fallen trees on our way to school this morning.

Tuesday August 24th. Buddy had a dental appointment today. I had him take a picture of his view from "the chair." Toy Story 2 was playing. :)

Wednesday August 25th. Today's picture is of the 3 boys having a lightsaber duel in the backyard before school. It had been a while since they'd pulled out the lightsabers and I really enjoyed watching them play together.

Thursday August 26th. Here's my trail mix that I put together to snack on this week. Hmmm...the M&Ms seem to be disappearing a bit faster than the almonds and sunflower kernels.

Friday August 27th. I didn't have a picture for today, so I pulled this one from my stash. I'm not sure if I've used it yet or not. Maxwell Smart eating a banana. My kids call this "eating a banana like a monkey" -- as opposed to the other option -- "cut in circles."

Saturday August 28th. I took Buddy for a little bike ride. I mainly took this picture for my sister so she could see him in this cape that she made for Chief years ago. (It's reversible...Superman is on the other side.) Buddy asked, "Why are you taking pictures of me?" "So I can show Aunt M a picture of you wearing the cape she made years ago." "Oh. Because she forgot what it looks like?" :)

Wow! Two-thirds down...1/3 to go!

August 15 - August 21

Aug. 15th. Empty for now.

Aug. 16th. Chief decided to play the trumpet for his first band experience. He's really excited about it...we'll see if it lasts.

Aug. 17th. Buddy and I were sitting in the grass on the school grounds while waiting for the other boys to come out after school. He wanted to take pictures while we waited. Here's one he got of his Power Rangers flip flop.

Aug. 18th. I put Buddy back in another session of swimming lessons so he would have something fun to do when the other boys went back to school. He loved having his own thing to do and looked forward to it every day.

Aug. 19th. Today's picture is courtesy of Chief. He went outside this morning and then came back in quickly. "I need the camera! There's a beautiful butterfly outside!" I'm not sure if it's a butterfly or just a moth, but I loved that he wanted to get in on the Picture Of The Day action!

Aug. 20th. The boys are all about catching grasshoppers these days. They like to look for grasshoppers during recess, and then in the backyard after dinner.

Aug. 21st. I love it when the kids pull out a toy that hasn't seen the light of day for a while. Buddy and Maxwell Smart built this together.

August 8 - August 14

I'm really workin' the collages a lot lately...

August 8th. Buddy was a bit bored while the older family members played Apples to Apples. I gave him the camera and let him go wild. This collage is just a sampling of the many pictures he took.

August 9th. The Skipper and I tried out a new (to us) Italian place for lunch today. Mmmmm. I imagine we will return sometime.

August 10th. The tradition continues... Every year I make a school bus cake for dessert the night before school starts. I usually like to be in control of the cake-decorating, but last year I let the kids take over that area (after I frost it). I thought they did a good job.
Chief came up with this very clever idea. He cut the head off of an E.L.Fudge cookie and placed it just so -- instant bus driver. :)
Another view... We put candles on (usually crayon candles, but not this year) and sing "Happy School Year To You" 3 different times so each boy gets a turn to blow out the candles.

August 11th. First day of school. We always go out to dinner on the first day of school. The kids look forward to it, and I look forward to hearing all about that first day. We thought it was interesting that the dessert menu was in a View Finder. (We don't go out much, so maybe that's just the way it's done these days and we're a bit out of the loop!)

August 12th. Still thinking on this one.

August 13th. Maxwell Smart lost his other top tooth. Love that toothless grin! He actually lost it on Sunday, but I decided to go with Buddy's Apples to Apples collage for that day.

August 14th. Buddy...in his Lego Batman shirt...for the 5th time this week.
