February 28 - March 6

Welcome to another week of Project Life!

February 28th. Maxwell Smart had a lesson in church today about the importance of families. One of the other kids in the class mentioned a sign above his family's piano that says "Love At Home." When Maxwell got home from church he made this sign and hung it on the wall above the piano keyboard.

March 1st. Remnants of Larabee's bubble bath.

March 2nd. Today's picture was Maxwell Smart sitting on the exam table at the pediatrician's office. He has a sinus infection.

March 3rd. Today I went to Maxwell's school to do a craft with the kids in his class. Unfortunately the school is anti-bringing-in-birthday-treats. Max's teacher likes a parent to come in and read books or do a craft. We made a Twirly Kite. Very easy. I drew the line on the paper plates beforehand, then the kids decorated the paper plates on each side and cut along the line. I punched a hole in the center and tied on a piece of yarn. When you run the kite twirls around behind you -- easy and fun!

March 4th. It's that time of year again! And thanks to Project 365 from last year, I know that this year Girl Scout Cookies went up in price 4 cents/box. :) This year they were $3.75/box! I'm a Thin Mints and Tagalongs fan, while my husband is a Samoas fan.

March 5th. Today's picture is a collage of our fun afternoon at the park. The boys had fun swinging, rock climbing, and playing with bouncy balls.

March 6th. I can't resist taking pictures of my excellent grocery deals. I combined coupons with store sales and "store cash" and ended up paying $9.03 out of pocket, as well as received another $10 in "store cash" to be used on a future trip to the store. Woo Hoo!

  3. I like the bday craft idea better then bringing in sweets. My kids get so many sweets for everything at school. I just got my girl scout cookies today, a box of thinmints for me and 2of my kids and one box of a lemon kind for hubby and all 3 kids. Mine were only $3.50 a box which is what I always pay. That's a great deal you got at your grocery store, what store was it at? Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love taking a fridge picture a couple times a year to show what new things we might be trying. Have a good week.

  4. Cute craft idea!!
I got my girl scout cookies yesterday - and they changed the names! The Samoas are called 'Caramel Delights' and the Tagalongs are called 'Peanut Butter Patties'. Isn't that strange? And they also cost $4 a box in CA.
Love the picture of the bath toys, I will have to copy you!

  5. Dawn - I get most of my good deals at Albertson's. I think in general their prices are too high, but if I use coupons for stuff that's on sale or with stuff that will give you "store cash" for your next purchase, I can come away with some great deals. Lots of stuff that is free or almost free. Last week they had Betty Crocker fruit snacks for $1 a box. When you bought 5 boxes, you got $3.50 back in "store cash." You could use that $3.50 to buy 5 more boxes of fruit snacks, and pay just $1.50 out of pocket for 5 boxes, or 30 cents per box. And then just keep doing that. I didn't go crazy with this sale, but I saw many ladies with CASES in their carts. It was crazy! So that was probably more than you wanted to know, but that's what I do. :)

Delane - that is weird about the name change for the cookies! I wonder why?
